eos.uptrade delivers new in/out app with automatic best price booking for the Nuremberg transport network
VGN Flow makes local public transport easy and flexible to use, especially for occasional passengers
Hamburg/Nuremberg, August 28, 2024. On July 15, 2024, the new VGN Flow ticket app for local public transport in the Nuremberg metropolitan area was released. eos.uptrade developed the app on behalf of VAG Verkehrs-Aktiengesellschaft Nürnberg.
The new VGN Flow app is a network-wide solution that enables users to use public transport intuitively without having to know fares or enter a start or destination stop. Passengers can check in to the app with a simple swipe and start their journey with a valid ticket. During the journey, the route traveled is recorded by geo-tracking and using the available smartphone sensors. Based on the data collected, the customer is then charged the best price for them on a daily or weekend basis and invoiced at the end of the billing period. This offer provides a particularly convenient solution for occasional travelers and contributes to the attractiveness of using public transport.
The VGN Flow app can be used on all underground trains, trams, buses and local trains within the VGN area. You don't need to create a new account, you can simply log in with the existing login from the VGN online store or the ticket store of the VGN app “Timetable & Tickets”. The app is available to download from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
“VGN Flow is a great innovation, especially for occasional users,” says Tim Dahlmann-Resing, Director of Technology and Marketing and Board Spokesman of VAG Verkehrs-Aktiengesellschaft. “It makes using public transport much easier and more intuitive, which further increases the attractiveness of buses and trains in Nuremberg.”
VGN Flow uses the innovative XiXo technology from eos.uptrade. XiXo was developed as a white label solution and can be used as a stand-alone app.
“We are very excited about VAG Nuremberg's confidence in our XiXo technology and the attractive new service for passengers in Nuremberg,” says Mathias Hüske, CEO of eos.uptrade.
