Innovative payment systems such as Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal now available for mobile shops
Going forward, it will be even easier for public transport passengers to buy a suitable ticket. Using Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal reduces any entry barriers via innovative one-click purchase. Gone are the days when the passenger was forced to painstakingly enter every little detail.
The three payment methods allow users to complete the purchase even faster and safer at the same time – without registration, login or entering personal payment data. The payment methods are therefore not only an option for the occasional local customer, but also for tourists and business travelers, who find it annoying to regularly re-register and enter means of payment in apps.
Data protection and security are very important for all providers. On the respective devices Apple Pay stores not the credit card numbers themselves, but device-specific replacement numbers encrypted in the secure element of each device. Only with a payment confirmation by Face ID, Touch ID or inputting the device passcode will a corresponding transaction code be generated in the secure element of the device, with which the actual payment is carried out. Google Pay uses the payment data stored in the Google Account which is encrypted and transmitted to the Payment Service Provider (PSP). Both companies use deposited funds.
Customers of the Ingolstadt Transport Company (INVG) now have the opportunity to use these innovative payment methods. These methods are now available in the Mobile Shop of INVG and ensure easy and smooth ticket purchasing on any mobile device.
