Hamburger Hochbahn and eos.uptrade will host the first Mobility Hackathon in Hamburg

Hamburg: On 22 and 23 September 2017, the first Mobility Hackathon will be held in Hamburg. Local heavyweights Hamburger Hochbahn and software specialist eos.uptrade will be joining forces to organise the event. Working in cross-functional teams, the participants will be able to implement their own ideas for innovative software solutions.

The aim of the one and a half-day event is to come up with creative solutions and smart software products for tomorrow’s mobility. Whether it’s programmers or other creative minds: At the Mobility Hackathon, participants from different areas are allowed and supposed to team up and together put into practice their ideas for future mobility. For this purpose, all participants can access the APIs of Hamburg Tourismus, MobyKlick, Geofox and many others.

“Anticipating tomorrow’s mobility demands today and developing potential solutions together - that's what drives us. For us, the hackathon means to come a with a completely new approach: putting together a group of smart, creative minds from different backgrounds and giving them some space and time to work up ideas. We can’t wait to see what the result of this formula will look like!”, said Henrik Falk, CEO of HOCHBAHN.

“It is our great pleasure to host such an event with motivated and innovative developers and public transport aficionados alike since mobility is more important than ever!”, said Michael Gross, Managing Director of eos.uptrade. He added: “Creating new ideas for future developments right here not only for but also together with public transport users is what makes this event so exciting for us. And with Hamburger Hochbahn, we have found the perfect partner to host this Mobility Hackathon.”

Participation in the Mobility Hackathon is free and the winning teams will be awarded a prize. There is only a limited number of tickets. To register, go to www.mobility-hackathon.de.
